Some of you may have come across this image already. It was designed by Shepard Fairey for the Barack Obama campaign. Shepard is a designer who is well known for his Obey campaign. I really like his style. It’s clean, crisp, and very striking. I actually had not seen this image before this morning. I found it over on Scott Hansen’s blog where he posted it and did a write-up on how he too was contracted by the Obama campaign to develop a poster. He accepted, just finished up the print and hopes to post up an image of it as soon as it’s printed and released. If you are unfamiliar with Scott’s work, it’s some of the best I know of and definitely inspiring to me. I can’t wait to see what he’s produced.

I find it amazing that a presidential candidate like Obama is engaging with the artist community and contracting some of it’s members to produce posters for his campaign. I think it’s a great move by the Obama campaign and definitely provides a fresh way of generating buzz and popularity.
