Video of comedian Louis CK on Conan talking about how spoiled we are. So so true.
Branislav Kropilak’s photos are mind-blowing. I stumbled across his site this week and immediately connected to his work. The 4 photos above are from his Billboards collection. I love the angle he chose for these and the colors are just fantastic. Very “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” or “2001 A Space Odyssey”. His Landings collection is equally impressive.
KERN is, as Boing-Boing put it, “The iPhone’s first design-nerd game” and, as I’ll put it, “The first game I’ll download for my future iPhone.”
For several years now I have been a huge fan of the work of Joost Korngold aka Renascent. Joost has consistently created work that exhibits a perfect marriage of design, movement, and audio. With the limited time I spent in After Effects and 3D I often referred to Joost’s work to study his compositions and the intricacies of how he animates each element. His style generally mixes the chaotic and pristine and the results are always elegant and beautiful to experience.
Browse both his motion graphics and static images to get a healthy dose of inspiration.
Today I am especially humbled. I took this photo on my way home Wednesday and totally forgot to upload it to Flickr until late yesterday. This morning I find out that it was picked up on Flickr’s Explore section and has received a fair amount of views. It’s exciting to see this level of traffic and the comments have been very flattering.
John Nack is the Principal Product manager for Adobe Photoshop and runs a fantastic blog devoted to all things related to Photoshop and Adobe in general. He recently wrote a post asking for feedback on how to manage complex PSDs, specifically in regards to better ways of controlling layers.
There is a lot to read through in that post, but one thing that stood out to me is how John goes back through the comments and adds his replies directly into the comments left by his readers. This is a fantastic way of managing the mini-conversations that happen in the comments section and keeps those conversations from being disjointed. I offered my feedback a few days ago and it’s great to go back and see his reply, especially in that one of my requests is already implimented in CS4 and the other is in the works.
