I’m a big fan of infographics. Whenever I find beautifully designed infographics like these two gorgeous examples I found this morning, I’m stirred to learn more about the craft. It compells me to dig up my Edward Tufte books and reread them. I’m amazed at their ability to communicate complex relationships or datasets in ways that are harmonious and friendly.
The first image came from a site called Information Aesthetics, an online resource I’m not familiar with but looks interesting. After digging a little further into where it came from I was lead to the site Well-Formed Eigenfactor which apparently provides interactive visualizations based on the Eigenfactor Metrics, which is something I know nothing about, but the results you get from these visualizations look amazing.
The 2nd image is off Behance and I was unable to trace it back to the owner, but I love the colors and flow of the lines. Wish I could view it larger to get a better understanding of what it’s communicating…and understanding Italian would no doubt be helpful.

Hello Phil
We are currently looking at portfolios of potential freelance illustrators and infographic artists
and was wondering if you can E-mail me up to 10 samples of your best work. PDFs or JPGs would be fine.
Thanks,
