Long Way Round & Long Way Down
Back in May of 2006 Cynthia and I went to England and Scotland for a business/pleasure trip. Before we left we stopped into Half-Price Books to get a couple of new books to read while we were away. I didn't really know what I wanted to get, but I had heard of the book "Long Way Round" by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman and so when I found a copy I figured I'd check it out. Captured this shot over the weekend while Cynthia and I were perusing some BBQ joints in Lockhart, TX. This was taken in the back entrance to Smitty's Market, which we didn't eat at but had heard was a really good spot. We were inside for maybe 3 mins and left smelling like smoke. Now that's a true BBQ joint. We did eat at Kreuz's Market, which was ridiculously good. -
Flickr Set - Souvenirs
What a brilliant idea. This guy is taking souvenirs, "re-compositing" them back into their original surroundings and posting the photos up on Flickr. In my mind the only thing more enjoyable than coming up with an idea like this is to actually go travel the world and do it. -
Fredericksburg Photos
This past weekend Cynthia and I headed to Fredericksburg for our 5th anniversary. The weather was amazing and we had a great time exploring the town and surrounding countryside. We also ate very well and I enjoyed a beautiful wheat beer from Germany that reminded me a lot of the beers I had in Munich during our trip to Europe last year. Kakslauttanen Hotel - Finland
This hotel looks amazing and totally something that I think would be fun to experience. It's like a futuristic igloo community; something straight out of a Kubrick film.
