Remarkable Moments in History
Recently here at Springbox the creative department participated in a creative challenge. The goal was to develop a video that promotes the amazing hangover prevention pill Remedy. After given a brief rundown on the product we were split up and had a couple of weeks to plan and execute a video. The team I was on came up with the concept "Remarkable Moments in History". The tagline for Remedy is "Yes, it works.", speaking to the fact that there are a lot of hangover cures out there that claim to work, but Remedy's actually follows through on that promise. Footage of a live Tycho (Scott Hansen's music moniker) set mainly showing the visuals he projects during the show. I need to make it a point to go to one of his shows when he's here in Austin. Apparently the visuals are being mixed live in a program called VDMX. -
Fringe Location Titles
Last night the series premiere of Fringe aired on Fox. Fringe is a new sci-fi thriller/drama that is another product of J.J. Abrams and Co. This show has gained a fair amount of buzz given it's tie with Abrams and so I figured I'd check it out. The premise of the show is interesting and last night's premiere was pretty good, but I wasn't blown away. Esquire E-Ink Cover
A couple of weeks ago I heard about how Esquire was planning on using E-Ink technology on the cover of one of their upcoming issues and the video above shows that result. E-Ink technology has been experimented with for a few years now and is currently being used on various book readers such as the Amazon Kindle, but this marks the first time it has been used on disposable medium such as a magazine. D90 | D-Movie
Recently Nikon announced a new D-SLR to their line-up, the D90. This is an upgrade from their very popular D80 and while the specs offer various updates that are worth discussing, the most significant update to me has to be the ability to shoot HD video. When I heard about the inclusion of this feature I was skeptical and still am to a degree, but these videos that Nikon released showing the D90s video capabilities look promising. Objectified: A Documentary Film
While browsing my usual feeds today I found this post by Jason Santa Maria about the website he did for Gary Hustwit's new film Objectified. Hustwit is the man behind last year's documentary Helvetica, a film dedicated to the life and influence of the famous typeface. I found Helvetica to be a fascinating film and the synopsis behind Objectified looks like it will be just as interesting. Objectified takes a look at the world of industrial design and explores the creativity behind the everyday objects we use in our lives.
