Sidekicks

To match the liveliness and personality of Sidekicks, I designed a bespoke UI customization experience when players make their selection of traits. I lead the visual direction for the UX flow, animations, and championed the triggering of Sidekick reactions based on UI events.

When working with the Product and Art teams on introducing Kicks, I partnered with our UI Art Director to discover the best visual representation for the 3D cosmetic within the Fortnite Frontend. I pitched a floating, angled silhouette so players could take in all of the distinct details of each pair of Kicks. Plus the angle adds a dynamic energy to the pose, which pairs well with the cosmetic category.

To bring LEGO cosmetics into Fortnite I helped discover the visual presentation of the builds and decor items within Shop content and across the Frontend. I collaborated with the Cosmetic Tech team to dial in the right 3D angle, lighting and grounding to make the builds feel scaled appropriately.
